How do I repair a cracked car windshield?

You can either take it to a window repair shop, which is your primary option. Else, if you have the tools on hand you could put the ballistic gel on the crack in question (Assuming it's not to severe) and using a suction cup window tool pull the window out while the ballistics gel seeps in.

If it's a small crack then most auto glass shops can repair it without having to relpace it. If it's a large crack then the windshield needs replaced.

Well chips can be replaced but I think in the case of crack the windshield should be replaced. There is no real way to fix the crack.

If it's only a chip, you can usually buy a repair kit (~$15) which involves putting a bit of resin into the chip to form a new hardened layer.

Fill 1/2 cup of water to the bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and rubbing alcohol to the bowl,in addition add 1 teaspoon of bug spray. Mix well with the spoon. Using spongy brush apply several coats of the liquid to the cracks. Make it dry for 2 hours.

You don't have to replace a cracked car windshield you can you a special glaze that it sold at some auto repair part stores. The process involves drilling a tiny hole in the windshield and then using the paste to bind the crack together. Then plastic resin is hardened with an ultra violet light.

Well typically a crack cannot be repaired. You should have a glass specialist check it out and see if they can save it. They will probably have you replace it because that is usually the safest option.

You can drill some tiny holes into the glass using glazing techniques, use some liquid resin to fill the crack. Using ultraviolet light harden the area or refer a mechanic.

Really there are now ways of repairing a cracked a cracked windshield. Holes can be professionally filled but crack are irremovable. Take your car to a quality glass replacement shop and have them install a new windshield. A cracked windshield could fail while driving and could cost you your life so get it fixed ass soon as possible.

A machanic does not fix windshields. and i have never herd of a windshield exploding even if you were to hit the highest bump or deepest hole. it will sprade the crack but never explode. windshields are made way to strong. and yes the the water, bugspray thing does work........
