How do I remove the alternator on my 1998 Chevy Venture?

First you must disconnect positive battery cable from the battery. Then let off tension on the tensioner to remove serpentine belt. After that you must disconnect the harness plug and the positive battery alternator cable. Then remove the bolts from the alternator. Then take a pry bar between the bracket and the alternator and slightly pry until alternator pops out.

Look under the hood. You will see a silver device that is connected to the battery and other parts. You will need to slide up the belts that are on it and remove the housing with a wrench.
