How do I prepare for an outdoor party if rain is in the forecast?

Ensure that you have coverings such as a tarpaulin, gazebo, or tent that can accommodate everyone. If thunderstorms are likely, move the part indoors.

When we have out door parties and it rains usually everyone comes in the house. One year we prepared better and we got a large tent. That I would say is the best bet if there is no way of getting indoors.

If you can afford it, arrange for a tent to be installed. That way you can care for your guests no matter what the weather does. Otherwise (assuming the guests won't all fit in the house), you had better issue a "rain date" invitation since you can't expect people to stand around like drowned rats.
