How do I make homemade raccoon deterrent?

My daughter had raccoons in her garage attic. She called the city and they told her to douse a rag in amnonia and hang in in the attic. The smell of amnonia causes a urine smell and the raccoons stay away. After that the city set traps and took the raccoons to the nearest state park.

If you mix something up with sweet bitters in it and line the property with it they will tend to turn around and go the other way. You can also do a net search and it will give you more info.

Raccoons don't care for the smell of hot peppers, use a combination of jalapeno and cheyenne pepper mixed with water in a spray bottle. Spray areas visited by raccoons. You can also try a motion light or loud music. Try recording the bark of a large dog. Alternate scare tactics so they don't get used to any one routine
