This depends on the type of infection you have. The bacteria could have cleared, but you still might feel sick since your immune system is weak from illness.

The bacteria cause the infection, so if you still have symptoms of infection and it was a bacterial infection then there is a chance they are still there; only clinical testing from a medical professional will let you know for sure.

Well if you still feel sick, there's a good chance that all the bacteria is still there. Did you take an antibiotic? Well if the course of the medicine is over then it should be gone. You may need a second dose of antibiotic.

It depends on what kind of infection. Generally the only way to know for sure is to get tested. Make sure you complete prescribed treatments.

Without testing this is nearly impossible to determine. If you are running a fever or still feel sick after taking all medications prescribed to you, you need to visit your doctor. He may provide further medication to help treat the problem.
