How do I know how many stamps I need?

U. S. Postal Service guidelines say that anything over one ounce or measuring more than a quarter inch must have more than one stamp attached. Like anything being mailed, the best way to find out for sure is to go to the post office during business hours and the clerk will tell you exactly what you need.

The best way is to get the item in question weighed by a postal meter. Failing that add 1 stamp for every one eigth pound. Items over 1 pound can only be shipped from the post office.

You would have to go to the post offfice and ask to make sure. Then buy the stamps you need to send the mail or package. You will need to ask at the post office to make sure.
