Solutions of caustic soda, Epsom salts or rock salt can all be used to kill tree stumps. You can also prevent the stump from regrowing by drilling several holes in it and filling these with nitrogen fertilizer. This will encourage the growth of fungi that will decompose the stump naturally.

They may already be dead. You actually need to remove them from the areas where they are bothering you or wait for them to decompose.

Caustic soda, found at your local hardware store, can be used to kill tree stump roots. Combine two parts water to one part caustic soda. Saturate the stump 3-4 times.

We can kill the roots from a tree by grinding or making holes in the cut stump or use salt water to be poured into a pit made by digging around the roots.
