You do not have to keep your left arm rigid through the swing. It is a general thought to keep in mind while swinging. Take a slow practice swing.

Keeping your left arm straight is not actually required for hitting good golf shots. Many pros have a slight bend in their left arm, such as Curtis Strange.

Take a practice half swing before actually hitting the ball. Get into a proper stance with the club face parallel to the ground. Take the club back in a practice swing slowly and keep your left arm relatively straight. It does not have to be stiff as a board. Then take your actual swing and see if you do better.

The left arm typically breaks down when the golfer does not turn his body sufficiently around his spine. A better shoulder turn will help eliminate the need to bend the left arm in order to get the shaft parallel with the ground at the top of the swing. This better turn can be accomplished by performing flexibility exercises.

One method to ensure this is to not overswing in your backswing. Focus on keeping your backswing short and compact to keep the left arm straight.

While playing golf it is ver important to straight you left arm. For this a person have to bend his right arm so that he can straight his left arm. If you are not able to straight left arm properly , you cannot play golf well. Every person has it own bending and try to strech the body.

Your left arm does not have to be rigid but you should practice taking a basic swing where your left arm is basically straight with right arm close to body.
