The best sollution or the one that worked for me was,take empty juice boxes or soda cans and line the entire edge of the counter top with them and don't leave a space where your cat can jump up into. After a while,your cat will look for another place to hang out.

You have to start this training early on in the cats life. Spray them with water or put a slippery substance on the edge so they cant get up.

Try getting a squirt bottle. If you see the kitten on the counter give them a squirt. Make sure they don't see you or it could become a game instead!

Cats will pay attention to their human's dissatisfaction, however if gentle scolding isn't working, spread aluminum foil across the couter. The noise and strange surface may do the trick.
