Weekly partial water changes help keeps a goldfish tank healthy. A general rule is that a goldfish tank needs a 10 - 20% partial water change every week. Fill a bucket with room temperature water and let it sit for 24 hours before you clean the tank. Reserve water in anohther bucket for fish.

Buy a "hydro-clean" system, that will help you remove all the impurities from under the fishtank stones ( if you have ).

The best way to keep it clean is to change the water once a week, or buy a small filter/pump for the tank.

Use pure water & change it every day. Scrub off algae from the tank sides,stick a gravel cleaner in the tank. Replace any cleaned ornaments. Use the oxygen generator,etc..
