I reccomend leaving this to the professionals one wrong thing can cost your life. You should get the haynes repair guide for the best description. YOu must un-bolt the strut from the bottom and then the three little bolts from the top. and then compress the spring and remove it.

buy the complete strut assembly first off, there will be 3 bolts inside the engine compartment over the wheel area, remove them and then remove the wheel itself, behind where the wheel was you will see 2 large bolts on the strut assembly, below the coil spring, remove them and the strut assembly will be free

Remove the stabilizer and brackets holding hoses. Then remove the mounting bracket, dust cover, upper spring seat, upper spring insulator and bumper. Install the upper nuts by positioning the strut in suspension.

To install rear struts on a Toyota Corolla you need to first jack of the vehicle, remove the wheel, then disconnect the hub/spindle assembly from the strut. Open the trunk of the vehicle and locate the 3 bolts that hold the strut tower to the vehicle. Take off these bolts and the strut will come out very easy.

I dont recomend doing that yourself. I would take it to a machanic, and have them take a look at it and give you an estimate. If you were to do it yourself, you would take the cylinder head off and just replace it. Bent valves are almost imposible to straighten back out.
