That is a TERRIBLE idea! Please do not ever hook a generator up to your home electrical system. Every year many avoidable electrocutions of power line workers are caused by generators that are hooked up in this manner. It is very unsafe!

You need to convert your electrical supply to a four prong. Generators usually run with a four prong configuration. Additionally, for safety sake, you need to incorporate a master switch. It should also go without saying - turn off the main breaker when doing your work. This idea is not optimal and may run afoul of the electric company.

If you need to hook a generator to a dryer outlet you may be be better off having an electrician set you up with the hookup as a dryer uses a different type of plug.

Make sure that you turn off the main breaker before using the dryer with a generator. Hook the power cord to the generator and the other end into the outlet.

To safely hook a generator to a dryer outlet, you'll need to have a transfer switch installed. There are other methods but none of them are safe and they could result in someone being hurt.
