Pinch the sections back to encourage new growth. This plant will bloom best in a sunlit location, but out of direct heat. Water when topsoil is dry, do NOT allow the soil to remain soggy. Check your garden center for a nice nutritious fertilizer to bring the plant back.

By adding a small amount of water to the soil near the base of the Christmas Cactus, you will help to alleviate the withered, dry condition of the plant. Continue to add water slowly over the next week to see if the Christmas Cactus improves in appearance. Also monitor the amount of sun.

Place your cactus in a well lighted area where it is free from cold drafts. Only water your plant when the soil begins to feel dry to the touch.

Water it thoroughly. While indoors, keep it in a sunny location. But outdoors, it should be kept in a shady or semi-shady location. Well-drained soil is a must for it.

It may be it is getting too much direct sunlight. These like bright diffused light. Do not let the soil dry completely out before watering. Try to maintain a consistent watering schedule. Make sure your plant has not outgrown its' pot. Too crowded conditions make the plant unable to absorb any water or nutrients.
