If you are using a Windows OS based computer, you can go within system properties - device manager. Click down networking devices and right click your network card.

There are only 2 kinds of internal modems, dial-up or WiFi. To see if yours is wireless, go to a WiFi hotspot, such as McDonalds, and try to load a web page. If your web page doesn't load, then you will have to use a phone jack to use the internet.

It is difficult to say without knowing Operating System. The easiest way is to open your computer. This should be easy. If you can find a device manager, check there.

If you are unable to locate a manufacturer or model number of the modem, but are able to locate FCC identification number, itis recommended that you perform FCC search using that number.

The easiest way is usually to open your computer and find the modem. Then you can get the make, model, and usually some other information. From in your operating system, try finding your System Information (in Windows it's in Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools) and go to 'Modem' to get the specifications.
