First sketch out a rough draft of what you envision it looking like. Then, take measurements of the area where the bar will go. Using these measurements and your original sketch, come up with exact dimensions. Then purchase the necessary wood and begin assembling the pieces; it is often convenient to use a nail gun for quick building.
