Try a short "Quiet!" with a sharp (angry) tone and a quick bop on the muzzle. You have to do this EVERY. single. time. you witness the action or the dog will not understand the disciplinary action. Also, be sure to praise the dog when a verbal command ("NO") is sufficient and physical discipline is no longer needed.

Pet stores sell a contraption that looks like a gun of sorts that has a laser on it and when the dog barks you point it at the dog and click it. It sends a sound out that only the dogs can hear and it makes them stop barking, .

If you want a quick fix, you can try buying Citronella spray from your local pet store. It's harmless to your furry friend and just sprays out a lemon smelling odor onto their muzzle from a collar, that they hate. If not that, there are also high frequency bird houses.

We've had several barkers over the years. We've found a training muzzle works very well. Their whole demeanor changes when wearing it. The hand held, inexpensive sound trainer works great. A high pitched electronic sound trainer works very well as well. Try the muzzle first, and if neither work try them together.

First determine the reason for the constant barking. If he is barking at people or other dogs, correct him while he is doing it. Some dogs bark incessantly at nothing. This often points to boredom. Purchase a range of toys and activities or get another dog to keep him company.

There are different methods. Some people use shock collars but I hate that method. My favorite method is to spray water at them whenever they bark too much. It works!
