Gold tipped cables will improve the reception of your set by employing higher quality wires that are designed to be stronger and better at transporting the signal.

One way to get better reception on your television is to put a large object, such as a tall fan, in front of your antenna. It actually works for some reason! It's also helpful to keep the two parts of the antenna wide apart and in a large V shape.

Try to reset the setting on the reception on your tv or try to move your antena if you have one.

If you have an antenna try moving it around until you can get better reception. If that does not work, you need to buy a converter box so that you will able to get clear channels.

Assuming that you have cable the you probably have interference. Move the tv to a separate outlet away from other devices. Make sure that the cable has a solid connection in the back.
