One way to obtain the chicken is to go to the Shimmering Flats and purchase the chicken for 1g. Or go to Thousand Needles and speak with Magus Tirth.

This item can actually be purchased. Speak with Magus Tirth in Thousand Needles at the Mirage Raceway. The Ancona chicken is the easiest chicken-like pet to obtain for the Horde.

First of all you need to be a hunter. This is a combatant pet, and no other class can have those. This pet can be purchased by a vendor in the Shimmering Flats for 1g. He stands right next to the bleachers in the racetrack area.

Go to Thousand Needles, look for Magus Tirth (guy in the green shirt, with a hat and staff) in the middle of salty desert. He is selling the Ancona Chicken, and be sure you have 1 gold to buy it.
