It depends on exactly what is wrong with the workmanship. It is possible to clean up messy mortar, but if the bricks are set in incorrectly, you'll have to remove the masonry and begin again. Because the bricks and mortar have no flex or give, it's impossible to make adjustments to what's already in place.

You can fix the workmanship by taking out the broken and unusable bricks in the wall by getting a brick remover. After you finished removing to bricks that you want to replace, then you can go ahead and add additional bricks with more mortar inside the new bricks. Allow to dry and it is ready to go.

You can fix some of the bricks by renting a boulder to remove some of the poor bricks. You would then need to get concrete and place the bricks correctly throughout the wall then you are able to seal the bricks and allow to dry. Make sure you watch for wires with the bricks.

In the case of brick, the best thing to do is to remove it an have it re-layed. That way you know it will look good and be structurally sound.

It is very hard to fix brick work without removing the bricks and starting over. You can try to add more mortar and smooth it.

Get an expert brick layer in to reset the bricks. If possible get the first bricklayer to come to the party to redo the job to your satisfaction.

I guess you would try to replace the bricks and try to straighten them out with a level. After you get them straight you would put the cement mixture between the bricks and smooth it out carefully.

You will most likely have to remove the bricking completely, which is a hassle. If it is only a few bricks, then remove those bricks and replace those bricks only.
