How do I fix ground i8ssues in a telecaster?

My telecaster amp has a constant hum to it, I was told this is a result of it not being grounded properly.

It's all down to the quarter inch TRS plug- in other words, where you plug in the guitar cable. Two screws hold the plate and jack assembly in the guitar. Remove them, and you'll see a number of wires. Remove all solder and resolder all connections. You should be good to go.

In any electric guitar, there is a wire that goes from the control harness, to the bridge. This effectively grounds the strings, tuners, and bridge to the same ground as your amp. Most likely, that wire has broken or a soldering joint has come loose. Your can open the control cavity and follow the wire to the bridge.

If that is indeed the source of your problem, just take the back off the amp and find a better surface to attach your ground wire to. This should be a black wire coming out of the place where your power cord enters the back. Just touch it to anything metal and move it until it doesn't hum.

Grounding issues are a common problem. Installation of a noise suppressor will kill the humming sound whilst notes are not being played.

I would open it up and make sure the wiring looks secure and not too beat up. If you don't know what you are doing, then have a friend help or take it to the shop to get checked out.
