Check Spark Plugs, Plugs, or Wires, and also check if you have a bad fuel injector. I recommend first checking spark plugs before doing anything with fuel injector.

You may need to change the fuel filter, and if that isn't the problem, you will need to take it in to have it check. It could be something serious.

black smoke from the exhaust is the car is running rich, to much gas, the fuel filter if its clogged would restrict the fuel and make the car stall or have no power. Dont completely unederstand your question.

You fuel filter should never smoke. Have a mechanic check it out immediately. This could be a sign that it is over heating an it could cause a fire.
