For bruising and swelling an ice pack might work, but you probably need to see a doctor to find out if it is fractured, sprained, etc. But yes, it definitely can get injured from a kick.

Fracture of a lower leg bone is possible from blunt impact, but not common. The brusing and swelling should resolve with application of ice and elevation of the injured extremity. Aspirin may alleviate the pain. If bruising and swelling does not begin to resolve in 48 hours, a physician should be consulted.

The bruising and swelling will resolve on its own and will likely take a couple of weeks if you have not fractured your leg or ankle. I would suggest icing the injury for the first 24 - 48 hours, followed by heat to the area. Since you may have broken the leg, you should seek an x-ray for definitive treatment.

It is possible you could have a fracture of one of the bones in your leg from being kicked. A simple xray can determine this. Meanwhile rest the affected leg. Elevate it as much as possbile. Use ice to assist with pain and swelling.
