If you have been awarded a FCRA settlement, check the decision papers issued by the court for details, which should include a timeline. Otherwise, contact the legal representative of the defendant. Failing satisfaction, return to court and file a motion in the same court that made the award.

You will have to consult the settlement agreement to see the criteria for collecting your check. There will undoubtedly be a claim form and instructions you will need to fill out and submit to receive your share of the settlement.

You need to send a legal notice to party, informing them when payment will be accepted and how, it depends on your state but you will probably have to give them either 30, 60, or 90 days to make the payment and you might have to allow them to make it over a long time period.

If you have been awarded in a dispute over FCRA, the judge will specify how the award is to be paid. If not, file a motion to pursue it.

If there is a judgment that provides a settlement to you for a FCRA violation, there may be language that stipulates how it is to be paid. If this is unclear, file a motion in the same court for clarification if you can't work it out with the defendant.

The FCRA stands for the Fair Crediting Reports Act. This law regulates how credit agencies report and use consumer information. It also makes sure that the information reported is accurate.
