How do I change the thermostat on my Dodge Stratus?

Well you need to start by draining down your coolant. Then locate the thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing and install the new thermostat. Reinstall the housing with a new gasket if needed. Then fill and bleed the coolant.

first of all you need to remove the thermostat housing, then remove the bolt that is holding a bracket. after that remove the three bolts that hold the housing to the engine block and gently pry the housing away. now you can pull out the thermostat, noting that the spring end goes into the engine. that's all!

Locate the thermostat by following the upper radiator hose to the thermostat. Remove the two to three bolts holding the housing to the cylinder head and remove.

Drain the coolant, remove the coolant recovery system hose and the thermostat's connection bolts, remove the thermostat assembly, and clean the area. Replace assembly and put back together again.

First of all you have to remove the old thermostat,and then replace the new one carefully,fix it there and this should do the trick
