To change your user-group in Windows XP, follow these instructions: Open Users Accounts in Control Panel. On the Users tab, under Users for this computer, select your user account name and then click properties. On the Group Membership tab, choose the group you wish to belong to. You may have to restart your computer after it is applied.

You have to go into the control panel, and there should be an option that says something about networking. Choose that, and you should be able to get to a networking dialogue that will allow you to change what network user group you are a member of. Good luck, I hope that helped.
