It might help to just lay for shorter periods of time. I've also found that if you "flip" around a little instead of just laying still, this helps, also. Try twisting your torso about 30 degrees to the right for a few minutes, then to the left. You can also put your arms over your head for a while.

I"m not sure what you mean by stripes but i would make sure that your lotion is on evenly, making sure that you did not forget a spot. Tan naked as well.

When tanning try to turn yourself every few minutes. Try to lay in different positions, such as laying with your arms over your head. This will help areas that usually don't get tanned get exposed to the bulbs more.

Having a striped tan from a tanning bed is usually caused by folds in skin. The best long-term solution would be to lose weight; however, slight adjustments in how you enter the bed can decrease skin folds, therefore reducing stripes.

You can avoid getting "stripes" in a tanning bed by making sure to lay in the bed without clothing. It is also good to periodically turn around and lay in different positions as to not miss any spots. Always remember to stay in a bed no longer than 15 minutes!
