Usually what happens is your fuel adjustment vibrates open more than it should causing the motor to run rough. Determine which screw on your carburator is fuel adjustment and turn screw in a little at a time until motor runs it's smoothest. That will usually take care of problem.

There is a little screw on the bottom of the bowl of the carb it is called a set screw and when you turn it one way it will rev the mower up and when you turn it the other way it turns the motor down.

Initial set: Close needle valve until the tip just snugs, then open 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 turns. Start engine and allow to warm up about 4 minutes.
