Accented letters are separate characters in Unicode (The alphabet your computer uses. ) You can access all the accented characters using the Character Map application in Windows. The character map application contains all available characters available in Unicode. There are also some keyboards that come with the accented characters (available through a toggle key. )

In the"Insert" menu, there's an option, "Special Character. " you can scroll through a list of all the glyphs available in your current font, and (e. g. ) é should be fairly close to the top and you can do it by using alt-codes also.

There are key combinations to create accent marks over letters. For example to create an accent aigu, first press option (or alt) + "e", then the letter to accent.

You have to retype the letter with the correct key marked by the letter with the accent over it. If you wanna add this accent ^ you have to type the ^ key first and then the letter you want underneath.
