If you move the decimal one space to the left, you have 67.89 centimeters, which is 10 times the amount of millimeter ((10)(1/1000) = 1/100). My answer: Move the decimal to the left one space or multiply by ten.

You have 170 centimeters. Another way would be to take the 1700 x 10% or 1700 x .10 = 170. Ten millimeters = one centimeter.

So, if you have 10.0 millimeters, moving one decimal point to the left would be 1.00, so one centimeter. 25 millimeters would become 2.5, so 2.5 centimeters.
