How do boats float?

They are heavy. It seems like they should sink.

It's Archimedes' principle: boat immersed in water is buoyed up by a force equal to the weight of the water displaced, which is bigger of boat's because boat contains air.

Boats are bouyant, which makes them float. Items with more bouyancy float. Although they are made of heavy materials, they are crafted in such a design that it is still able to float on the water.
