In the ancient pyramids they used 22/7 that its approximately pi, that its the same 3 1/7. for 2 pi they used approximately the ratio 1760/280, a Chinese mathematician Zu Chonzhi demostrate that pi is approximately 355/113, also the algorithm of Liu Hui applied to 12288-gon that was a accurate value for that time around 480 AD.

Solve it by experiment. Find a circle, measure the length of the circumference, and then measure the length of the diameter which is the segment passing through the center. Dividing the first number by the second number gives the answer.
