Krusteaz brand mixes are familiar to many warehouse discount stores shopper. The name may seem unlikely for muffins and pancakes mixes, but the name makes sense when you know where it originated. In the 1930's a bridge club in Seattle developed an easy to make piece crust recipe mix called "crust" "ease". The spelling evolved to the familiar Krusteaz brand.
