There are some option in birth control that will stop you from having a period, such as depo prevera. There is no guarantee that you will not have any bleeding, as even with the shot you may have spotting. Some really athletic women stop their period by loss of body fat.

There are several ways to stop your period. First, you can go through menopause, but this will only happen if you are old enough. You can get pregnant, but in nine months your period will return. You can become anorexic and starve yourself until your body stops having menses. The final way is using birth control that stops your periods.

Some forms of birth control can be used to stop menstruation. Taking a hormone birth control pill continuously without taking the placebo in the fourth week will achieve this. Also, an IUD can somtimes stop menstruation. If you are looking to stop menstruation, please discuss with your doctor.
