The body burns protein and fats that are stored in the body. When the body has excess protein or fat it stores them in the body for later use. Proteins and fats are like food stored on the body. The body processes them through the stomach and the molecules are delivered through the bloodstream.

The energy provided from fats and proteins is basically stored as binding energy between the atoms of the molecules. The molecules are degraded, while acetyl CoA is formed. The acetyl CoA is used in the citric acid cycle, where the energy carrier molecules ATP and NADH are build.

Protein can be used for energy source but better avoid fats becauses it may help you to gain over weight. If you are a non-vegetarian, you can prepare and eat the meat of rabbit which is full of protein. You can prepare and eat chicken without removing its skin.
