Purchase a mushroom hunting guide specific to your area, and train with someone who is very experienced in identifying edible mushrooms. Whatever you do, do not experiment with eating wild mushrooms, as many poisonous varieties are both potentially deadly and extremely difficult to differentiate from edible varieties.

A very easy way to tell if mushrooms (or pretty much anything else) are poisonous is to look at it's coloring. If it's brightly colored or adorned, it most likely is poisonous. Your best bet is to just not eat any mushrooms in the wild.
