Being birds, parakeets don't really get "pregnant". An unmated female can still lay eggs (which would be infertile). But it takes only about 2 days for an egg to form and pop out, so you haven't got long to spot it. It's unlikely you would be able to tell anything before it happened.

It is difficult to tell if the bird is pregnant because she will not look swollen. The only way to tell is if you see her straining to release the egg. It should take about 2 days for the egg to travel its full course before it is released into the cage.

As your parakeet is a bird and lays eggs, it is quite easy to tell if she is pregnant. That is to say, she will never be pregnant. If you also have a male parakeet it is possible that she is fertile, and that knowledge will come when you find parakeet eggs in the nest.

How can you tell if your parakeet is pregnant? You can not tell, but make sure your parakeet have a partner of the male variety. Dating back millions and millions of years, birds has never been pregnant. They are not mammals. Eggs are the only way for them to reproduce.
