Wolf hybrids tend to be very different from pure dogs. They have a very strong territorial sense and are driven by their instincts much more so than dogs are. It takes a very special owner to control a wolf hybrid, so you need to be careful. You can get a DNA test done at a lab to be sure.

Some of the markings would be a ruff around the shoulders, a salt and pepper color and a black tip tail. If the dog walks with 1 foot directly in front of the other. This is the way wolves walk in the snow to hide their numbers. Remember, these hybrids are illegal in some states - don't get tested.

All dogs have wolf in them. This is a given. If you want to know if it was recent, look at the size of her paws. Wolves have huge paws.

The only way to know for sure is if you know what the parents are. If not you could ask a vet and they may know but not for sure.

The only real way to tell if your dog has any wolf in it, is to take him/her to the vet and see if they will take a DNA sample to send to a place where they do DNA test. Thats the only way to tell with 100% proof that the dog has wolf in him/her.

Wolf mix dogs are not dogs that can be trained. The wolf has the strongest bite force so you might have to watch out when you are training him/her.You can find out if it has big nail and howls when full moon.I took my dog and tested her by DNA.
