If your child is in elementary school, talk with the administration and your child's teacher and see if they can be moved into a higher level class to be with peers at their level. For middle school, see if they have a gifted and talented (G&T or TAG) program available.

Try providing your child with activities that will encourage learning, for example reading, writing and yes even math. Start teaching him the concept of money.

The first thing to do is work with your child's school to make sure he or she is being challenged enough and isn't bored. You can also contact a local tutoring center, they often have programs for gifted children. Depending on your child's age, local high schools and community colleges may have enrichment programs for qualifying students.

The child has to be challenged intellectually with things that they enjoy. This way the child will want to take part in the challenges.
