repairing a burned lawn can often require re-sodding or re-seeding but that is assuming the exsisting root system was killed in the burn. if the burn didn't heat the soil to kill it it could grow back natually but re-seeding or sodding will yield the most consistent result.

Put down a repair patch kit that can be purchased at any hardware store. This is best for smaller areas. If the entire lawn is in need of repair you may want to just start over with a new lawn. This will require need seeding.

water but dont feed then scarify to remove all the dead grass of the top let grow and dont cut to short it should grow out reseed the bald spots if need be

If it is burned from fire, till under then re-seed the area. If burned from over-fertilizing, water the area daily to dilute the fertilizer. Wait a couple weeks then re-seed.
