Start by loosening the alternator bracket and removing the alternator. Then use the correct socket and hold the pulley to keep it from turning. This should remove it safely from the key that holds it on. You might need some WD-40 to help lubricate the pulley to come off.

Removal is as simple as locating the belt pulley with the adjustment bolt and turning it with a wrench to loosen it.

Most pulleys are held onto the shaft with a "key". This is a small piece of metal that fits into the groove on the shaft. Take a very small flat head screwdriver, or pliers, and pry out the "key" from behind the pulley. If your lucky the pulley will come off with human force but you'll probably need a pulley-puller.

Most alternators are held on with 4-6 bolts in the front. Remove the belt with a belt tensioner or ratchet. Remove bolts and pull straight out.

Well start by loosening the alternator bracket and removing the alternator. Then use the correct socket and hold the pull to keep it from turning. Just be sure to turn the correct way and a air tool may be required in some cases.

Remove the nut on the end of the alternator. Then the pulley should just slide off of the shaft. You might need to use some WD-40 to loosen it.

First some models have a tensioned spring that apples pressure to the pulley, so loosen that and replace it with a brand new one and your done.

First you will need to remove the bolt. Once you remove the bolt, get a slide hammer to remove the pulley.

Removing an alternator pulley is a fairly easy task. Just remove the alternator and replace the pulley with a new one. These are easy to obtain and replace, also cheap.
