For the most part you can't. If you are having issues with getting bigger you could make sure you eat healthy and exercise. Don't starve yourself though, baby needs food.

Unfortunately, some of the changes your body goes through while pregnant can't be prevented. One thing you can do and that is to maintain a healthy weight for you and your baby. If you eat healthy, exercise and try to resist any heavy calorie cravings you will have less to lose after the baby is born.

Most of the changes you go through during pregnancy aren't preventable, nor should you try to prevent them. Your body has to do certain things in order to carry and deliver a baby. The only thing you can really try to avoid is stretch marks, using an over the counter lotion, but there's no guarantee it will work.

Lotions or Cocoa Butter can help prevent stretch marks in the abdomen and breasts, especially when used regularly and when you start early on. Regular, light exercise can help keep off the extra weight gain.
