Let them soak in water in a bowl that more than covers the beans. Let them soak for about 24 hours. Then boil them in new water with a dash of salt and some butter. When they boil turn them down to low and let them simmer 30 - 45 minutes.

Soak overnight in water. Put beans in a large pot and cover with water, salt & pepper to taste, 1 larger size ham hock and garlic powder (optional). Bring to a boil then simmer for about 2 hours (may have to add more water to keep them covered).

First, you want to wash your dried Lima beans in cold water. Then, heat your water with whatever seasoning you wish to use. Then, add the dried beans and let them return to a boil. Turn the beans down to low and let them simmer, covered, for 45 minutes.

Eating dried green lima beans will be hard to digest. I would soak them in water overnite, rinse off and put in a slow cooker with onion, pieces of ham, 2 cans of tomato sauce, cook until tender. About 6 hours on med. A little brown sugar will work also.
