First look on websites with user forums about rodents/rabbits to prepare yourself and prepare the place before getting them : they need room even in a cage, and lot of cleaning, it's really a big work to keep clean. You should also avoid unwanting breeding, separate male and female.

Talk to a breeder or someone involved with 4H clubs. You can also go to the pet store and ask for help there. Read as many books and magazines and get as much advise as you can. Bunnies are very delicate animals, you must know what you are doing.

Search out websites dedicated to the care of bunnies. Also, go to a local 4-H group if available and ask experienced people what they do, raising bunnies is not always the easiest thing to do, they require a lot of care and dedication, make sure you are ready for this.

You should talk to a local vet before starting to raise bunnies. You will need to find out how to treat common problems associated with breeding animals and common sicknesses and diseases to watch for while raising them. Than you will need to prepare an area for breeding and raising. This will give you a good start.

The best thing to do is learn from someone experiences. Ask people involved in 4-H who raise rabbits. You will need the space to do it, and enough money for food and possible medical issues. You will also need to know to separate the males from females or else you'll end up with hundreds of rabbits in a few months.

There are some great books out there. You need to figure out for what purpose you are raising the bunnies (pets, food) and what type you want to raise (outdoor or indoor). Check your local library for books about the kind you want to raise. You can also look for websites. To start, visit www. rabbit. org.

Simply Google your information. Either that or you can easily go to a bookstore to the "animals" section and read about them there!

Joining your local rescue group is the best place to start. If you are considering breeding, to begin find good pedigree stock. Do not breed petstore bunnies.
