Take your dog to obedience school. This is by far the best way to change your dog's behavior. Behavior is altered by the random rewards system, so give your dog praise and a treat when he does what you want. Be consistent, scold the first time and every time he does what you don't want.

Praise the good behavior and reprimand the bad behavior. It is you who can show what you expect of the dog. You are the pack leader you need to let him know what is approved and what is not approved for your expectations.

You must lead by example , the dog looks to you as source of leadership. If your a strong leader they behave, if your weak they act bad.

Dogs respond well to reward systems. To influence their behavior or traiin them, you can try praising them a lot and giving them treats when they do something good or you can go to training classes with them for relatively cheap.

It is important that your dog understands that you are the dominant one in the "pack". Once that is established, you can move on to socializing and training.

The best way to change unwanted behavior is with positive reinforcement. Simply put, when he does what you want, reward with praise.
