Spray the stains with Shout before putting the bathing suit in the washer. Add detergent and let it soak about a half hour before washing.

Find out what the stains are. I would soak in cold water with clothes liquid soap overnite. Rinse and see if the stain disappear. Chlorine will not come out.

After use, bathing suits should be soaked in cold water with a gentle product, such as Woolite, made for delicate fabric. That should remove most normal stains associated with swimming. Persistent stains can be gently rubbed with a stain removing product, like Shout, then rinsed thoroughly in cold water.

One of the main stains people find on bathing suits is tar. Heat is the worst thing you can apply. One recommendation is to put a bag of ice or freeze the affected area. Afterward, scrape off the tar and treat any remaining discoloration with mineral oil.
