You can put ant killer in your kitchen. Locate the nest, that is where the ant killer will be the most effective. Also make sure that you sweep your floor frequently- the reason that they are there in the first place is because they found a place that they could get food.

Mix boric acid with sugar. Put it in a straw you've cut to 2 or 3 inches and put the straw next to where the ants are. Leave it there for a while. The ants will eat it, take it back to their mound and it will kill them later.

Make sure there isn't any food, especially sugary foods, loose in the kitchen. You can go to your local supermarket and buy "ant traps" which will kill the whole hive.

They are probably attracted to your kitchen because it is an easy source of food. Make sure to clean out underneath your refridgerator, and take your garbage out daily if you have to. After you've cleaned up, you will want to get pesticide to rid the problem for good.

You might need a more specific poison for a specific type of ant. It sounds like these are sugar ants, so you would need a sugar ant poison. If that doesn't work, call an exterminator and see if they have any advice.
