To avoid any problems you should connect the output device (like a Television or a Proyector) BEFORE turning the laptop on, and it will recognize the extra output device automatically. If the laptop is already on, you need to use the Display Configuration Tool that comes with the Graphics Card or the Windows Resolution Screen.
