Try using the Paste Special command to transpose a column of data to a row of data and that should work vice versa also.

Begin by highlighting all the information in the column that you would like to change into a row. Right click on it and select 'Cut' or 'Copy'. Next, right click on the first cell in the row you'd like to move it to and select 'Paste Special'. Select 'Transpose' from the popup dialog. This will turn it into a row.

Select the columns. Copy the text in the selected columns. Right click the cell where you want to put the text then click PASTE SPECIAL. A dialog box will appear. You need to check the TRANSPOSE then click OK.

Copy your data and paste it by right-clicking and selecting Paste Special. Select "Transpose" and hit OK to paste your data. This only works in Excel 2000 or more recent, however.

Select the column you want to change, then Ctrl+C (that will copy the data and is evidenced by the "marching ants") then place your insertion point where you want the rows to start and select Edit, then Paste Special. choose transpose. This will past your column as a row
