How can I adjust the door hinge on a GM vehicle?

depends on the vehicle . older ones had pins and bushing with no adjustment . newer loosen bolts and adjust being aware of body lines and gaps

Well they come with shims to either bring the door up or down .First open the door to get to them shims .To bring it up you need to add a shim .To lower it you need to take shims out.

Well depending on the vehicle it might var. Usually the brackets have slot so you can get it roughly in place. Then you can pick up or twist the door to tweak it into place.

There is usually no adjustment. GM trucks are notorious for the door pin bushings wearing out and causing the door to sag and not line up properly.

First give the suitable sport to the door and then loose the door hinge hardware. Then adjust the door to the correct position then tight the hinge.
