Depends upon the dress maker and the man. If you are looking for something more formal they have stores specifically for you online and most likely in your town you will pay for better fit. If it is for a one time party and you have broad shoulders and are tall probably not, and you need a tall ladies shop.

It would really depend on the size of a man. A size 16 dress is comparable up top to a size L or XL in a men's T-Shirt.
